Turning 5 | Perth Child Photography
The end of January always makes us a little nostalgic. 5 years ago we became parents and got to meet our eldest daughter for the first time. We can’t but help thinking back to that little colicky newborn. All the late nights and early mornings with little sleep in between; followed by her first smile, her first words, those first shaky steps. It all seems so long ago.
This was Alyssa at just 6 days old.
She has been looking forward to two things since the start of the new year: her 5th Birthday and starting Pre-Primary.
She had a firm idea of what she wanted for her birthday: a “pink and purple butterfly party” and a barbie doll. We were pretty proud of the cake :)
As soon as the birthday was over the next count down began. Her new school bag hung on the hook taunting her but eventually the big day came.
The excitement still hasn’t worn off :)

Wharton Beach, Esperance | South West Children Photographer
We had a very relaxing start to the New Year. Lots of sunshine at what must be one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. The sand was pure white and so fine that it squeeked underfoot – perfect for building sand castles and paddling pools.
We were treated to some gorgeous weather during the day and some amazing sunsets at night. It was hard to leave so we are definitely heading back next year :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays | Yallingup Child Photography
2011 has been a year of incredible changes for us. Most importantly, this was the year that our dream for Butterbomb became a reality :) We feel so fortunate to have had so much support from our family, friends, clients, and all of the people who come and visit our blog and Facebook page. Thank you for all of your kind words and letting us share some time with your families.
We wish everyone all the best for the holiday season and hope that you are surrounded by the people that you love.

We had a fun morning choosing our winner and we must admit that we completely underestimated Alyssa’s butterfly catching skills. She caught 5 and had to choose a name out of her net.
